Host in Port Macquarie, Alternative Lifestyles and the 5 girls student house

[mileage: 2311km] We met our host in Port Macquarie in the Tourist Information Centre and after a welcome we followed his car to his parent’s house. It was a big house with a pool and a big entertainment TV. We slept in Roberts sisters room who is studying in England at the moment. His father made his business with a caravan park but he sold it before some years and is helping out in his brother’s Internet Company. The family was very helpful but also a bit crazy but I liked it. Robert is working as a map planner and save his money for a trip to Norway. He wanted to know what he can dress for protecting against the cold weather there. As they don’t have a real winter here everything under 15 degrees is really cold for Australians and they never saw snow in there life. All the questions seems really funny but helped him with what he can dress for different cold temperatures and what kind of materials keep him warm. Saturday we drove to some waterfalls and the Barbecue over a fire was great. But I think Robert was playing to many race games on computer. He drove like a crazy bastard over unsealed roads downhill in curves with 80km/hour next to 400 m precipice and trough 40cm holes. I mean with an experienced driver this is maybe fun but not with a driving learner who even haven’t his full driver license. A day later I was looking under the car all the underbody was torn open. Yeah how cares …Mum and Dad pay! Next day we visit a Koala park with some boring, sleepy and lazy Koalas, a dancing bird and a boring snake show. Monday we drove to Kempsey and looked at Crescent Head but we couldn’t swim because of the bloody red weed. Our next host was family in a forest near Kempsey. Actually the hospitalityclub member Genna doesn’t live there just here sister, mum and dad. The mum was really great. She is a journalist and writing a travel book at the moment. The father is a surfer (surfing business and grows bamboo and sell them) and the sister (19years) save some money with her boyfriend for a trip to Europe. A typical alternative lifestyle family with a self build house from the trees on her ground. They are planting veggies, fruits and weed. And all the family smoke it together as it is just normal ;) Next day we got a place to stay in Lennox Head with the help of Gennas mum. We drove north on the highway No.1 to Lennox Head to a 5 girls flat-sharing community directly in front of the ocean. Beautiful place located 17km south of Byron Bay. We stayed there 3-4 nights and helped the girls who are moving out at the moment. Lisa was going to Africa to teach in a school. ??? was going to travel in South Asia over the summer semester break and we decided to stay some days and to wait till Genna and Cherry coming from Noosa. We just thought we have to meet the hospitalityclub girl Genna. We where swimming surfing and just relaxing in a hammock and listening to the ocean. One night I was sleeping on the veranda and looked the sunrise in the morning. Great! It was an unbelievable moment to hear the rush of the ocean when you fell asleep and see the red clouds of the sun in the morning.
