Blue Mountains

[mileage: 737 km] After 13 days in Sydney we went out of the town and I was really happy about that. Because the last week Jens had his infected eye and we had to wait for the doctor and what he will say... But at least we could go out of the town. As there was plenty of time I organized our next host in the Blue Mountains. With the mapping function in the hospitalityclub and the good search functions in couchsurfing I found a host in Bowe Mountain near Richmond. I thought Richmond would be perfect for the whole loop around the Blue Mountains. Wednesday afternoon we arrived Richmond where I made an appointment in the Mc Donalds carpark with Rob. He was surprised that Jens wasn`t a girl because I have still the photo of me and Kristina in the profiles. Following Rob we drove to the top of the Bowe Mountains. (Mountains are here not higher than the German "Mittelgebirge" - max. 1000m) The house was really nice with a great view on the Sydney Skyline and the Blue Mountains. Rob works in the Australian Post as a Manager and his wife Lorenza has her own cleaning business. They directly invited us for dinner and gave us some helpful information where and how to go in the Blue Mountains. We cooked one evening a dinner and Rob invited us to a day trip to the north of Sydney. We went some unsealed roads trough a wonderful landscapes and had a lunch in a Pub in a small village. Later we got a host in Springwood, a town near the wonderful three sisters. The couple Michael and Maria (both around 50's let us stay 4 days in there house with a view into the Mountains. It was a very quite place where I couldn't stand up before 12am ;) Michael was growing some weed in the garden and Jens was happy about that. We celebrated Jens birthday in a small group with a small birthday cake. Later we visit a pub where we could listen to schoolies in a usual Australian Karaoke party. When we depatured Maria gave us a body board and Michael a rusty old barbecue plate which we bash out of the car later because there wasnt enough space anymore.Some pics:
